Probably the first thing that comes to mind when you hear about Elon Musk's acquisition of Twitter. I thought this infographic below from the Wall Street Journal did a great job answering that question.

It's a combination of:

  1. A $13b term loan from a combination of six banks
  2. A $12.5b margin loan from a combination of twelve (he has had to pledge his Tesla shares to get this loan)
  3. $21b of his own cash (wow)
